Mays Landing, NJ — A 43-year-old Atlantic City man has admitted to pointing a firearm at another person during a dispute, accepting a plea deal that could send him to state prison for up to 18 months without parole. Thaddeus Cunningham entered the guilty plea Tuesday before Superior Court Judge Christine Smith in Atlantic County.
The charge stems from a 2023 incident in which police say Cunningham was seen armed and later confirmed to have aimed the weapon at another individual.
Surveillance and reports led to identification
According to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, Atlantic City police responded on November 27, 2023, to the area of 1201 Adriatic Avenue following reports of a man with a firearm.
Through surveillance footage and witness information, officers identified Cunningham as the individual involved. Investigators determined that during a dispute, he pointed the firearm at another person.
Cunningham ultimately pleaded guilty to one count of fourth-degree unlawful possession and pointing of a firearm.

Sentencing scheduled for August
