Man fights for life after being shot in Southwest Baltimore walk-in reported at area hospital

BALTIMORE, MD – A 22-year-old man is clinging to life after being shot in Southwest Baltimore Saturday evening, with the victim arriving at a local hospital on his own as police scrambled to piece together what led to the gunfire.

Just after 7:30 p.m., Southern District officers were called to an area hospital where the man had walked in with a gunshot wound described as life-threatening. The shooting was later traced back to the 3300 block of Saint Benedict Street in the city’s Southwest District.

The shooter fled the scene, and no arrests have been made. Detectives are working to identify a suspect and determine what led to the shooting.

Officials have not released any additional information about the circumstances of the attack, and the victim’s condition remains critical as of Monday.
