The Myrtle Beach Police Department issued the alert to clarify that anyone 17 or younger cannot remain in the designated zone after 9 p.m. unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The restriction applies to a defined section of the city’s downtown core, including the area from the ocean west to Kings Highway and spanning 6th Avenue South through 21st Avenue North. It also covers Broadway Street between 7th and 9th avenues north.
