Man walks into Baltimore hospital with gunshot wound after overnight shooting
BALTIMORE, MD — A 47-year-old man showed up at a Baltimore hospital suffering from a gunshot wound early Tuesday after police responded to a shooting scene and initially found no victim, authorities said.
Officers were called to the 2800 block of Edmondson Avenue around 12:28 a.m. May 5 for reports of gunfire in Southwest Baltimore.
When officers arrived, police said they were unable to locate anyone injured at the scene.
While investigating, officers received a call from an area hospital reporting that a shooting victim had walked in seeking treatment.
Police responded to the hospital and located a 47-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound.
Authorities said the victim was listed in serious condition.
Western District shooting detectives have taken over the investigation.
