HACKENSACK, NJ – The Hackensack Police Department has announced the passing of Albert J. McNally Jr., who served for 12 years as a dispatcher and was the Communications Manager for MICCOM, Northern New Jersey Mobile Intensive Care Communications Services.
Albert, affectionately known as Al, had a storied career in emergency services. He worked as an EMT for the Hackensack Fire Department and as an EMS Supervisor for Jersey City Medical Center EMS. Al also volunteered with the Hackensack Volunteer Ambulance and the Little Ferry First Aid Squad.
Further enriching his extensive service, Al was an active member of several committees and organizations. He contributed to the State of New Jersey EMS Communications Sub Committee, served as Assistant EMS Coordinator for Bergen County OEM, and was a member of both the Passaic County OEM and LEPC. Additionally, Al was involved with NJ-NENA, APCO, the New Jersey Public Safety Accreditation Coalition, and taught courses for the National Emergency Communications Institute and NJ-NENA.
The department expressed that Al’s dedication and leadership have left a significant mark on emergency services.
