Police Report Series of Violent Incidents in Atlantic City

Atlantic City, NJ – The Atlantic City Police Department responded to three serious incidents and arrested two men on the morning of Wednesday, May 12.

Luis Mateo was found suffering from a gunshot wound at Georgia and Pacific Avenues and was uncooperative with authorities, later discovered in possession of cocaine. Officers followed a blood trail to another location and further investigations are ongoing.

Officer Kevin McGloin responded to a stolen vehicle report at 9:06 AM on Atlantic Avenue. Less than 90 minutes later, Officer Martina Martin located the stolen vehicle and its driver, Chreshull Rucker, causing a series of collisions.

Rucker attempted to flee but was apprehended by police. A loaded handgun and pocket knife were found during a search.

In a parallel incident on south Kentucky Avenue, a 36-year-old man was stabbed before officers intervened. Detective Juanita Harris identified Rucker as the suspect in the stabbing case and charged him the following day.

The two arrested individuals, Luis Mateo and Chreshull Rucker, face various charges and have been remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility awaiting legal proceedings. Contact the Atlantic City Police Department with any information related to these events.
