Flemington, NJ – Hunterdon County Prosecutor Renée M. Robeson announced on Wednesday that a 45-year-old woman from Raritan Township, New Jersey, named Domonique Preston, was indicted for first-degree murder and weapons offenses. The indictment was returned on Monday, leading to Preston being charged with various criminal charges.

The indictment stemmed from a 9-1-1 call received by Raritan Township police on February 21, 2024, reporting a stabbing at a residence in the 100 block of Manchester Road. The victim, 66-year-old Steven Spivey, was found deceased with a stab wound, leading to Preston’s arrest at the scene.

Preston is currently detained before trial at the Warren County Correctional Center and is legally represented by Herminia A. Moreira, Esq.

First-degree murder carries potential penalties, including a state prison term between 30 years to life.

Third-degree charges may lead to imprisonment between three to five years, with a fine up to $15,000, while fourth-degree charges could result in imprisonment up to eighteen months and a fine up to $10,000. Media inquiries should be directed to Sam Iraca at the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office.
