New York Man Sentenced for Sending Disturbing Texts to Teen

MINEOLA, N.Y. — Nassau County District Attorney Anne T. Donnelly reported today that Andrew Quattrone, a 41-year-old Manorville resident, was sentenced to four and a half years in prison for sending sexually explicit messages and an image to a teenager in Wantagh. The sentencing, which also includes eight years of post-release supervision, occurred after Quattrone’s guilty plea on November 6, 2023, before Judge Robert McDonald.

Quattrone faced charges including two counts of Disseminating Indecent Material to Minors in the First Degree, one count of Disseminating Indecent Material to Minors in the Second Degree, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Additionally, a protection order was issued for the teenage victim, and Quattrone will be required to register as a sex offender.

The District Attorney detailed that on January 20, 2022, at around 11:48 PM, the 16-year-old victim from Wantagh received a disturbing text from Quattrone, which led to a planned meeting the next day. When Quattrone attempted to meet the victim, who appeared with two friends, he fled the scene. He was apprehended on January 22, 2022, in Bayshore by the Nassau County Police Department’s Eighth Precinct Squad.

This case, led by the Pharmaceutical Diversion & Cybercrimes Unit Chief Melissa Scannell, highlights the commitment of the NCDA to protect children from online predators. Quattrone also faces a pending case in Suffolk County for related charges.
