YEADON, PA – William F. Butler, a 34-year-old Black male, has been arrested on several charges after a hit-and-run accident reported on May 5th, 2024, at 2:14 AM.
Yeadon Police responded to the intersection of Church Lane and Whitby Avenue, where a vehicle had rear-ended another car, causing a chain reaction collision. The suspect vehicle fled the scene but was later located on South 70th Street in the area of Chester Avenue in Philadelphia. William F. Butler, who displayed signs of alcohol intoxication, was found at the scene and identified as the operator of the suspect vehicle.
He was taken into custody after becoming combative with police during processing. Additionally, Butler allegedly made threats of violence against law enforcement and damaged a holding cell at the police station. He faces charges including terroristic threats, reckless endangerment, obstructing administration of law, DUI, and involvement in an accident causing damage to attended property.
