TOMS RIVER, NJ — The Toms River Police Department announced its Junior Police Camp, designed to engage local youth with the inner workings of law enforcement. The free camp offers an opportunity for children to explore various aspects of police work including rides in police cars, use of specialized equipment, and learning self-defense tactics. Additionally, campers will experience the motorcycle unit, EMS ambulances, ESU teams, fire suppression vehicles, and tackle an obstacle course.
Open to Toms River residents in 6th, 7th, or 8th grades, the camp will select sixty participants through a lottery system. Applications are available at police headquarters, through school officers, or can be downloaded from the official website www.trpolice.org. The deadline for applications is May 31.
