Silver Spring, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 4th District Investigative Section are investigating a robbery and assault that occurred on Thursday in the area of Dawson and Georgia Avenues.
Detectives have released surveillance photos of the suspect and are asking the public for assistance in identifying them. The incident happened around 3:42 p.m. when the victim was on a Metro bus in the area of Grandview Avenue and Veirs Mill Road.
There was an altercation between the victim and suspect, leading to the assault and theft of the victim’s phone. The suspect then fled, prompting the victim to exit the bus at Dawson and Georgia Avenues.
A suspect description provided by detectives identifies an approximately 20-year-old Hispanic individual, standing 5 feet, 9 inches tall, with a thin build. The suspect was wearing a black jumpsuit, black leggings, and black socks with heart and lip designs.
