Gaithersburg Man Arrested for Spree of Local Burglaries

Lawrence Clipper, a 59-year-old man from Gaithersburg, has been apprehended for a spate of burglaries that occurred in early March in 2024.

The burglaries took place in the vicinity of Redland Road, Montgomery Village Avenue, and Stedwick Road. Investigators pinpointed Clipper as the primary suspect after an extensive inquiry. The offenses he is accused of include vandalizing an ATM at the Bank of America, theft at the Spice Lanka restaurant, attempted break-in at the Derwood Beer and Wine store, robbing Vida Hair Salon, breaking into several establishments on Montgomery Village Ave, and a failed entry at Metro PCS on Stedwick Rd.

Subsequent to his arrest on unconnected charges on March 14,, detectives formally charged Clipper with numerous counts of burglary, attempted burglary, and malicious property destruction on April 10, 2024.

Clipper is detained at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit without the option of bond.
