Nixon, TX – On a Thursday, authorities revealed that a 10-year-old Texas child is facing charges for threatening to kill a fellow student during a school bus altercation.
The development stems from the child admitting to fatally shooting a sleeping stranger at an RV park in Nixon just before turning 8, following a dispute on the bus.
The incident sheds light on the unsolved murder of 32-year-old Brandon O’Quinn Rasberry in January 2022. Despite being too young to face murder charges, the child now faces a terroristic threat charge in connection to the bus altercation. The child revealed details of the murder after the bus incident, describing how he grabbed a gun from his grandpa’s truck, went to Rasberry’s RV, shot him in the head while he slept, and put the gun back in the truck. Authorities confirmed the murder details, emphasizing the child’s knowledge.
Investigators later found the murder weapon at a pawn shop and the child was placed in juvenile detention after evaluation at a psychiatric hospital. The child’s confession stands in stark contrast to the victim’s character, described as thoughtful, intelligent, and hard-working by his girlfriend. Although authorities claim to know the killer’s identity, the pursuit of justice remains ongoing.
