Police Seek Suspects in North Philadelphia Shooting Incident

PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Philadelphia Police Department’s 35th District is actively seeking two suspects following a shooting incident that occurred on April 12, 2024, at approximately 9:40 pm on the 7100 block of Old York Rd. A 31-year-old man was critically injured after being shot in the chest while inside his vehicle.

Responding to a 911 call, officers found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was swiftly transported to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition. Dash cam footage from the victim’s vehicle captured the harrowing incident, showing a black Nissan Murano stopping at the traffic light at Old York Rd and Cheltenham Ave. A passenger from the Nissan Murano then exited the vehicle, approached the victim’s car, and fired several shots into the windshield before the suspect’s vehicle fled north on Old York Rd towards Cheltenham Township.

The first suspect is described as a black male, wearing a black balaclava-style mask, black zip-up jacket over a white shirt, and black or gray pants with a black belt. The second suspect is described as a black male with a heavy build, full beard, wearing a black skull cap, large glasses with black frames, a black hooded jacket with a Nike logo on the left chest, gray sweatpants, and black and white sneakers.

The Philadelphia Police urge anyone with information about this violent crime or the suspects involved to come forward to assist in their apprehension and to ensure community safety.
