MILLVILLE, NJ – Residents in Millville will experience a large police presence today at a defunct elementary school during a scheduled training exercise today and tomorrow.
The Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office has announced a collaboration with the Millville Public School District’s Security Chief to conduct an Active Shooter Emergency Response Training. The training, which will be led by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, aims to prepare law enforcement officers for potential active shooter situations.
It is scheduled to be held at the currently unoccupied RD Wood Elementary School on Archer Street. The sessions are planned from Monday, April 16 to Wednesday, April 18. This event will feature a significant presence of law enforcement personnel from across the state, engaging in exercises that will include simulated gunfire and tactical entry maneuvers. Officials stress that this is merely a training exercise and that the public should not be concerned by the sounds and activities at the site.
