JERSEY CITY, NJ — Six detectives are being hailed as heroes after providing life-saving medical assistance to a man who became unresponsive at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Jersey City.
On the morning of Thursday, April 11, 2024, at the Hudson County Administration Building, an individual suddenly lost consciousness and pulse in the lobby area. Detectives Stephen King, Salvatore Benanti from the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office, and Scott Rogers from the Jersey City Police Department were first on the scene. They were swiftly joined by Detectives Risheem Whitten, Kristen Mikulak, and Daniel Bellini, who together administered critical first aid that successfully revived the man.
The quick actions of these officers ensured that the man regained his pulse and was subsequently transported to Jersey City Medical Center for further medical attention. Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez praised the detectives for their professionalism and swift response, acknowledging the crucial seconds that determined the positive outcome of the incident. Chief of Detectives James Parker and Captain Javier Toro also commended the detectives for their composure and effective application of their training under pressure.
