Toms River Police Department Offers Junior Police Camp to Local Children

TOMS RIVER, NJ – The Toms River Police Department has announced the return of its Junior Police Camp, a program designed to immerse local children in the world of law enforcement. The camp aims to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of police operations and the importance of physical fitness through hands-on activities.

Participants will have the opportunity to experience rides in police cars, use specialized police equipment, learn self-defense tactics, and engage in various physical activities. The camp offers exposure to several units such as the motorcycle unit, EMS Ambulance, ESU team, and fire suppression vehicles, along with an obstacle course.

This free camp is open to sixty children from Toms River, selected through a lottery system. Eligible applicants must be in the 6th, 7th, or 8th grade. The deadline for applications is May 31, with forms available at the police headquarters, through school officers, or for download at www.trpolice.org.
