Three Teens Arrested for Armed Carjacking in Mt. Vernon Square

WASHINGTON, DC – In a significant breakthrough, detectives from the D.C. Metro Police Department’s Third District have apprehended three suspects in connection with an armed carjacking in Mt. Vernon Square.

The incident, reported just before midnight on March 28, occurred on the 600 block of M Street, Northwest. According to reports, one assailant approached the driver’s side window, brandishing a firearm and compelling the victim to vacate the vehicle. The victim complied, and the suspects escaped in the stolen car. An extensive search ensued, incorporating both ground officers and MPD’s helicopter, leading to the swift location and arrest of the suspects. A firearm was also retrieved at the scene.

The arrested individuals include a 15-year-old male from the Northeast and a 17-year-old and a 16-year-old, both from Northwest D.C. Each has been charged with Armed Carjacking.
