Holyoke Man Pleads Guilty to Armed Robberies Across Western Massachusetts

BOSTON, MA – Alfredo Aldeco, a 38-year-old man from Holyoke, has admitted guilt to multiple charges including armed robbery and firearms offenses in a federal courtroom in Springfield, related to his involvement in a spree of nine armed convenience store robberies across Western Massachusetts.

Aldeco pled guilty to interference with commerce by robbery, using a firearm in relation to a crime of violence, and being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. His sentencing has been scheduled for May 30 by U.S. District Court Judge Mark G. Mastroianni.

The string of robberies, occurring over two weeks starting October 25, 2018, culminated on November 14, 2018, with Aldeco and co-defendant Emilio Rivera robbing a West Springfield store clerk at gunpoint, during which Aldeco threatened the clerk’s life. The firearm used was later found in Aldeco’s possession at Rivera’s residence. At that time, Aldeco was barred from owning firearms due to a previous felony conviction.

These incidents spread across Holyoke, Chicopee, Northampton, West Springfield, and Agawam, with Aldeco consistently employing intimidation and threats. Emilio Rivera, Aldeco’s accomplice, received a six-year prison sentence on July 6, 2023, which will be followed by three years of supervised release.
