NEWBURGH, NY – Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler has announced the indictment of Jesus Bravo, 25, of Newburgh, in connection with a series of gang-related violent incidents. Bravo faces thirteen felony charges, including multiple counts of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree.
Following a long-term investigation by the Non-Fatal Shooting Taskforce into gang violence in Newburgh, Bravo was arraigned on Thursday and is held on bail, awaiting a conference on April 4. The Taskforce, supported by the GIVE initiative, aims to address gun crimes in the area.
Court documents reveal Bravo’s involvement in four violent incidents between September and December of the previous year, including stabbings, shootings, and physical assaults. These actions have resulted in severe injuries and a heightened threat to public safety in Newburgh.
Hoovler credited the City of Newburgh Police Department and the Hudson Valley Crime Analysis Center for their roles in the investigation and subsequent arrest of Bravo, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts in combating gang violence.
