ORANGE COUNTY, NY – David Mead, a 32-year-old resident of Middletown, has been sentenced to three to six years in prison. The sentence comes after his guilty pleas for Burglary in the Third Degree and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree in Orange County Court.

District Attorney David M. Hoovler announced the sentencing, which took place on Tuesday, March 5. Following his guilty plea in November 2023, Mead faced re-arrest three times while awaiting sentencing, leading to an enhanced sentence for violating plea conditions. Mead’s criminal activities included break-ins and thefts from vehicles across several towns in Orange County.

Hoovler expressed gratitude towards the Village of Montgomery Police Department, Town of New Windsor Police Department, Town of Newburgh Police Department, and the New York State Police for their efforts in the investigation. He emphasized the impact of such crimes on victims and the importance of law enforcement collaboration in bringing perpetrators to justice.
