Climate Protester Calls Joe Manchin A ‘Sick F**k,’ Gets Absolutely Wrecked

Climate protesters disrupted an event featuring Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia in a video posted on social media Friday.
Manchin, who announced he would not seek reelection to the Senate in November, was appearing for a “study group” at the Harvard Kennedy School Institute of Politics Friday when the protesters entered the classroom. The group, Climate Defiance, posted a 51-second video of their protest on X.
“We just called Joe Manchin a sick [expletive],” the group’s post said. “We humiliated him in front of a herd of Harvard elites. He squared up. We held firm. Barbaric murderer, hideous fiend, he torches humanity and laughs.”
“You sold our futures and got rich doing it, you sick [expletive],” one protester said as Manchin sat down for the discussion. The protester and Manchin later faced off until another person physically shoved the protester out of the room.
Manchin has opposed the Biden administration’s efforts to target gas stoves, backed an effort to repeal a regulation targeting trucks and also secured construction of a pipeline as part of the debt ceiling package passed in May 2023. One protester mentioned the pipeline, claiming Manchin’s constituents didn’t want it.
Manchin offered to sit down and talk with the protesters, explaining that he came to talk with Harvard students, but one protester refused. The group previously interrupted a June 2023 appearance Manchin made at an event discussing permitting reform.
Manchin did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation.
