Middletown, DE – A 15-year-old juvenile from Middletown, Delaware, has been arrested and charged with possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited, following a criminal investigation sparked by social media posts suggesting the illegal possession of a firearm. The Middletown Police Department initiated the investigation on February 19, 2024, leading to a search warrant being executed at the juvenile’s home the next day.

During the search, police recovered evidence supporting the charges. The teenager was subsequently taken into custody and faced arraignment in Family Court. The court set a $20,000 cash bail for the juvenile, who was then transported to a Juvenile Detention Center, pending the ability to post bail.
