Woman Wanted for Pepper Spray Attack in Newark

Newark, NJ – Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé announced that a warrant has been issued for 31-year-old Quyjae Springer of Newark, wanted in connection with an aggravated assault that took place on January 31, 2024. The incident occurred around 1:45 p.m., when police were called to University Hospital following the arrival of a female victim seeking treatment for injuries sustained during an altercation on the 100 block of West Market Street.

According to reports, following a verbal dispute, Springer allegedly drove her vehicle towards the victim, exited the vehicle, and then pepper-sprayed the victim in the face. The victim was treated at University Hospital and is currently in stable condition.

Springer has been identified as the suspect, and detectives have secured a warrant for her arrest. She is described as being 5’2” tall and weighing 200 pounds, and is known to frequent the Garden Spires area on the 100 block of 1st Street.
