Newark, NJ – Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé is calling for the public’s assistance in identifying suspects involved in a recent robbery. On February 1, 2024, around 9:03 p.m., a man was attacked and robbed by five individuals on Carteret Street near Lincoln Avenue in Newark.
The victim was left unconscious, and his wallet containing cash, debit cards, and personal property was stolen. Surveillance footage captured the suspects using the victim’s debit card shortly after the incident. The Newark Police Department is now seeking help to identify these suspects quickly.
Descriptions of the suspects have been provided. Suspect 1 is a male, approximately 5’8” tall with a thin build and light complexion, last seen wearing all-black clothing. Suspect 2 is a female, around 5’1” tall and heavyset, with a light complexion, eyeglasses, a black hood with white writing, and gray pants. Suspect 3, a male, mirrors the first in height and build, seen wearing a ski mask, black vest, and Adidas sweatpants. Suspect 4 is a female with a light complexion and thin build, wearing a black hood with white writing. Lastly, Suspect 5 is a male dressed in a ski mask, blue North Face vest, gray jeans, a black hood, and black and white sneakers.
