A man accused of causing multiple motor vehicle crashes while high on drugs has been arrested
On February 1,, Tyrell Weaver, 41, from Harrisburg, was involved in a series of collisions, crashing a U-Haul truck into three vehicles and a house. Investigations revealed Weaver was under the influence of PCP, methamphetamine, and marijuana. Video evidence from the scene suggests that the crashes may have been intentional.
A week later, on February 8, Weaver was involved in another incident where he crashed a car into another vehicle and three houses on the 2400 block of Walnut Street in Penbrook. The crash resulted in Weaver being ejected from the car and sustaining serious injuries; he was then hospitalized. No other injuries were reported, but it is believed Weaver was under the influence of controlled substances at the time of this second accident.
Following his release from the hospital on February 16, 2024, Weaver was taken into custody by local law enforcement. He has since been arraigned and is currently being held in Dauphin County Prison. Charges against Weaver include several counts of Aggravated Assault by vehicle while DUI, criminal mischief, DUI, recklessly endangering another person, and numerous traffic offenses.
