Langley Park, MD – Homicide Unit detectives have released surveillance footage showing two persons of interest connected to the tragic murder of two-year-old Jeremy Poou-Caceres in Langley Park last week, urging the community for assistance in identifying and locating them.
The video, captured on February 7 around 9:45 pm, depicts one individual exiting a 2003 gold Ford Explorer and entering a convenience store on the 9200 block of New Hampshire Avenue in Silver Spring. The second person is seen inside the store at the counter. This vehicle, involved in a carjacking earlier that day in the 1500 block of Kanawha Street in Langley Park, was also used to flee the scene of the toddler’s murder and has since been recovered.
Following the incident, on February 8, 2024, Israel Fuentes, Jr., 33, and Johnny Alejandro Turcios, 28, both from Lewisdale, were arrested in connection to Jeremy’s death. The investigation suggests that Fuentes and Turcios were part of a shootout with another group, inadvertently striking Jeremy and his mother, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The police are committed to apprehending all individuals involved in this devastating incident and are offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the suspects. The community is encouraged to come forward with any information regarding the identities of the two persons of interest by contacting the Homicide Unit at 301-516-2512.
