BALTIMORE, MARYLAND — Authorities have apprehended 45-year-old Antawn Venable of Baltimore in connection with a shooting that took place in the city’s Northeast District on February 2, 2024. The arrest follows an investigation into the incident, which left a 39-year-old woman with gunshot wounds stemming from a domestic dispute.
The incident occurred in the 5000 block of Midwood Avenue, where it is reported that Venable shot the female victim. A description of Venable was promptly circulated among law enforcement, leading to his arrest in the early hours of the morning at 1:30 a.m., in the 1000 block of East 33rd Street. Following his apprehension, Venable was taken to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he faces charges of attempted 1st-degree murder.

The investigation was initiated after Northeast District patrol officers were called to a local hospital on February 2, shortly after midnight, in response to a report of a walk-in shooting victim. At the hospital, they found the 39-year-old woman suffering from gunshot injuries that were determined to be non-life-threatening.
