Harrisburg, PA – Attorney General Michelle Henry announced the sentencing of 30-year-old Larry Thomas to a prison term of 12 ½ to 25 years for his role in trafficking methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cocaine from Philadelphia to Centre County. The sentencing occurred Monday in Centre County Court following Thomas’ guilty plea to six felony charges, including delivery of a controlled substance, two counts of possession with intent to deliver, conspiracy to deliver controlled substances, corrupt organizations, and criminal use of a communication facility.
The Office of Attorney General identified Thomas as the head of a drug trafficking ring that operated between Philadelphia and Centre County. “This defendant led a network that distributed deadly substances in the State College area, continuing his operations even from behind bars,” Attorney General Henry stated. “The substances trafficked by this ring endanger lives and have a devastating impact on communities.”
The investigation, bolstered by a Grand Jury, unveiled that Thomas’ organization was responsible for the movement of significant quantities of fentanyl and other drugs into Centre County from mid-2021 to early 2023. Evidence presented to the Grand Jury highlighted the trafficking of up to, or sometimes exceeding, one pound of methamphetamine monthly.
