Police Nab Two After Stabbing Incident Aboard D.C. Metrobus

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A verbal altercation on a Metrobus in Northwest D.C. escalated into a physical assault and stabbing on Sunday afternoon, resulting in two men being taken into custody. At around noon, the incident unfolded aboard a 70 bus near 5929 Georgia Avenue, NW.

According to police, 36-year-old DeAngelo Reed initiated an argument with 54-year-old Kelvin Kelly shortly after boarding the bus. The dispute turned violent when Reed assaulted Kelly, who then retaliated by stabbing Reed.

Reed was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries to his head. He has been charged with assault for initiating the confrontation. Kelly, on the other hand, was arrested in connection to the stabbing. The Metro Transit Police have successfully recovered the knife used in the altercation.
