Newark Police Seek Public's Help to Locate Suspect in Armed Robbery

Newark, NJ – Newark Police are requesting public assistance in locating a vehicle involved in an armed robbery that took place in the early hours of Friday, January 26. The incident occurred around 4:03 AM on the 300 block of S. 10th Street.

Two suspects alighted from the vehicle and approached a victim, announcing a robbery. The first suspect claimed to have a handgun and proceeded to take the victim’s cash and wallet. The second suspect seized the victim’s backpack. Both then re-entered the vehicle, which was driven by a third accomplice.

The vehicle in question, a white 2021 Honda CRV SUV/Wagon with a sunroof, bears New Jersey registration number W42NZF. It was reported stolen from Irvington on January 25 and was also used in an attempted home invasion in North Arlington in the early morning of January 26.

The Newark Police Department’s detectives are actively investigating this incident and urgently seek the public’s assistance in locating the vehicle and identifying the suspects.

Suspect 1 is described as a Black male with a thin build, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and shoes. Suspect 2 is also a Black male with a thin build, dressed in a gray and black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and gray sneakers.
