WASHINGTON, D.C. – Tragedy struck Northeast D.C. on Monday afternoon as a shooting incident resulted in the death of a male and left a juvenile male injured. Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch detectives are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this fatal event.

The incident occurred around 3:28 p.m. in the 4600 block of Minnesota Avenue. MPD’s Sixth District officers, responding alongside Metro Transit Police officers, initially found the juvenile male suffering from gunshot wounds. In a nearby location, a male victim was discovered inside a vehicle, also with gunshot injuries. Despite immediate assistance, the adult male victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while the juvenile was quickly transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The identity of the deceased male is currently withheld, pending identification and notification of next of kin. The MPD is urging anyone with information related to this case to come forward.
