NEW YORK – A 42-year-old man was stabbed in the right shoulder while on a southbound “D” train at the 59th Street-Columbus Circle subway station. The attack occurred early Wednesday morning, January 17, at approximately 5:51 AM.
The assailant, described as a male with a medium complexion and slim build, approached the victim and stabbed him before fleeing the scene. He was last observed boarding a northbound “2” train. The suspect was wearing a brown leather jacket, a green hooded sweatshirt, light-colored pants, and black sneakers.
The victim, who suffered minor injuries, was privately transported to NYC Health and Hospitals/Woodhull and is reported to be in stable condition.
The incident is currently under investigation, and authorities are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the perpetrator. Anyone with information is urged to contact local law enforcement.
