Harrisburg, PA – Attorney General Michelle Henry announced the sentencing of Caleb Schweikarth, a Bedford County resident, to seven to 14 years in prison for sexually assaulting a child. The abuse began when the child was just seven years old.

In October, a jury found Schweikarth, 39, guilty of indecent assault and corruption of minors. Following his conviction, he is required to register for life under the Sexual Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA).

Attorney General Henry emphasized the severity of Schweikarth’s actions, noting the exploitation of a young child’s trust and the repeated abuse over several years. The sentencing is a measure to hold Schweikarth accountable for his actions and reflects the commitment of the Attorney General’s office to protect children in Pennsylvania and bring justice to those who harm them.

The testimony revealed that Schweikarth had a close relationship with the victim and her family, which allowed him unsupervised access to the child. The abuse occurred during these times alone with the child in her family home.
