VIRGINIA BEACH, VA, January 16, 2024 – The Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) has updated on a shooting incident that took place last month on Riverbend Road, leading to the arrest of Marquise Bunn, a 37-year-old male from Portsmouth.

The incident, originally reported on December 24, 2023, at 12:12 A.M., involved a confrontation among partygoers that escalated into violence, resulting in gunfire. Virginia Beach Emergency Communications and Citizens Services (ECCS) responded to ShotSpotter alerts and calls from the community in the 800 block of Riverbend Road.

Upon arrival, VBPD officers found two adult males with gunshot wounds. Antonio Wolfe, a 43-year-old male from Portsmouth, Virginia, was declared dead at the scene. Another victim was transported to a hospital in critical condition. A third male, also suffering from gunshot wounds, later sought treatment at a hospital and has since been released.

On January 8, 2024, Bunn was apprehended on an outstanding warrant for Felon in Possession of a Firearm related to this incident. He now faces additional charges, including Second-Degree Murder and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony.

The VBPD emphasizes that the charges are merely accusations, and the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty. The victim hospitalized remains in critical condition.
