Numerous Kayaks and Canoes Recovered After Passing Storms

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD – The Maryland Department of Natural Resources – Natural Resources Police announced the recovery of several canoes and kayaks that drifted away during recent flooding in Anne Arundel County. The owners of these watercraft are currently unknown.

Residents who have lost a canoe or kayak in the aftermath of the flooding are encouraged to contact Sergeant Kevin Kelly at kevin.kelly@maryland.gov to determine if their property is among those recovered. Claimants must provide proof of ownership, which could include an accurate description, photos, or relevant paperwork.

Recovered items include a kayak found at Cheston Point on the West River, a canoe near Thomas Point Park, another canoe near Riva Rd Bridge on the South River, and a canoe on the Severn River. The Department also reminds owners to mark their canoes and kayaks with their name and contact phone number to facilitate identification and return in such situations.
