Utica Man Arrested for Drug Possession and Harassment

ONEIDA COUNTY, NY – On Thursday, around 10:00 PM, Oneida County Dispatch issued a be-on-the-lookout (BOLO) for a vehicle due to erratic and reckless operation.

Members of the GIVE and Crime Prevention Unit subsequently located the vehicle near Steuben St and Arthur St. Upon interviewing the driver, cause was developed to request him from the vehicle.

During the investigation, the driver, Michael Lanaux, 38, of Utica, slapped an officer’s arm, leading to his arrest for Harassment.

A vehicle search revealed 33 individually knotted baggies containing suspected crack cocaine and a pair of brass knuckles.

Lanaux faces multiple charges, including Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third, fourth, and seventh degrees, Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the fourth degree, Harassment in the second degree, and NYSV&TL violations. He was transported to the Utica Police Department for further processing.
