EVANS CITY, PA – The Pennsylvania State Police, Troop D, Butler, is actively investigating the homicide of 45-year-old Robert Charles Gaurrich.
On January 11, 2013, around 11:19 p.m., the Troop D unit responded to a call at Bob’s Truck & Auto Repair on Evans City Road. Gaurrich, a resident of Brownsdale Road, Evans City, was found deceased with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was discovered face down on a gravel pile behind the repair shop.
Gaurrich is believed to have been shot inside his business before trying to escape through the east main door.
A missing 30/30 caliber Winchester Canadian Centennial lever action rifle, owned by Gaurrich, is also being sought. The rifle, notable for its octagonal shaped barrel and missing metal ring on the butt stock, is a critical piece of evidence.
