TOMS RIVER, NJ – Toms River Township announced the swearing-in ceremony for Mayor-elect Daniel T. Rodrick. The inauguration will take place during the Township’s Annual Reorganization Meeting on Monday, January 1, 2024. The ceremony is scheduled to be held in the L. Manuel Hirshblond Meeting Room at Town Hall.
In addition to Mayor-elect Rodrick, Council Members-elect Lynn O’Toole, Thomas Nivison, and Craig Coleman will also be taking their Oaths of Office during the event. The meeting is open to the public, providing an opportunity for residents to witness the commencement of the new administration.
For those unable to attend in person, the Township will live stream the event on its YouTube channel, ensuring accessibility for all community members. This event marks a significant transition in Toms River’s local government, setting the stage for the leadership’s future endeavors.
Rodrick and his team will replace the administration of current Mayor Maurice Hill and his council team of retired police officer Kevin Geoghegan, Matt Lotano and Josh Kopp. Rodrick defeated Hill in the June GOP primary election in a four-way race. He later defeated Democrat Ben Giovine, getting 70% of the vote, winning in every voting district in the township.
