Home Invaders Wake Toms River Family, Flee in Car Stolen Out of Bayonne

TOMS RIVER, NJ – A burglary incident occurred in the early hours of December 23 at a residence on Brower Avenue in Toms River. The homeowners reported waking up to the intrusion in their home. According to the Toms River Police Department, the burglary took place while the homeowners were asleep the previous night.

Surveillance footage from the homeowner’s security system showed four individuals dressed in black, with face masks and gloves, exiting a white BMW and approaching the house. The footage revealed one suspect entering the driver’s side of the homeowner’s BMW parked in the driveway and rummaging through it. Two others tried to access another vehicle in the driveway but were thwarted by its locked doors.

The intruders then broke into the house, rummaging through the kitchen and other areas of the home. They proceeded to the second floor, opening the bedroom door of the homeowners, who awoke and confronted the suspects. The intruders fled the scene in the white BMW, which was later identified as a vehicle reported stolen from Bayonne.

The Toms River Police Department Detective Bureau is actively investigating the incident and requests anyone with information to contact them at 732-349-0150 x 1346. The department assures that all provided information will be kept confidential. The investigation continues as authorities seek to identify and apprehend the suspects involved.
