GREENSBURG, PA – The Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office announced the conviction of three individuals involved in the homicide of Jason Raiford, 39.
The verdict, delivered by a jury after a week-long trial, found Amir Kennedy, Elijah Gary, and Da’Montae Brooks guilty on multiple charges.
Kennedy, 16, was convicted of first- and second-degree murder, robbery, aggravated assault, and other related charges. Gary, 20, and Brooks, 17, were found guilty of robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, and other charges.
The incident, dating back to July 3, 2022, at the Valley Royal Court apartment complex in New Kensington, involved a confrontation over drug money. Raiford was fatally shot 11 times by Kennedy during the encounter.
District Attorney Nicole W. Ziccarelli commended the jury’s diligence in this complex case and acknowledged the efforts of Assistant District Attorneys Leo Ciaramitaro and Jackie Knupp in prosecuting the case.
