Police Seeking Fugitive Murder Suspect In Pittsburgh Area

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Police Department is actively searching for 36-year-old Jonque Pettiford, a suspect in a recent homicide in Homestead. On November 1, at 1:08 AM, police were alerted to a shooting in the 300 block of E 12th Avenue. Upon arrival, first responders found two adult males with gunshot wounds. One of the victims, 38-year-old Eric Stephens, was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the second male was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

The investigation, led by the Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit and supported by witness interviews, identified Pettiford as the shooter. The incident, which occurred following an altercation outside a residence, led to Pettiford being charged with homicide, attempted homicide, and aggravated assault.

Pettiford is described as a Black male, 5’7” tall, and weighing approximately 180 pounds. He is considered potentially armed and dangerous. The public is advised not to approach him and to call 9-1-1 if seen.
