Juvenile Charged as Adult in Armed Carjacking of Federal Agent in Northeast D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A 17-year-old has been arrested and charged as an adult in connection with the armed carjacking of a federal agent. The incident occurred in the 100 block of 12th Street, Northeast D.C. Devonta Lynch of Southeast, D.C., faces charges of Armed Carjacking under Title 16.

The carjacking took place on November 29th at about 3:44 p.m., involving two suspects who approached the victim as they were exiting their vehicle. The suspects, brandishing a gun, commandeered the vehicle and fled the scene. The vehicle was later located at 4:10 p.m. in the 1000 block of 15th Street, Southeast D.C.

This case, jointly investigated by the Metropolitan Police Department’s Carjacking Task Force and the FBI Washington Field Office Violent Crimes Task Force, is still ongoing.
