Newark Woman Pulled Driver Out of Car and Beat Them in Broad Daylight

NEWARK, NJ – The Newark Department of Public Safety is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Shavani Robinson, 35, of Newark, wanted for an aggravated assault that took place on November 8, 2023.

Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé reported that the incident occurred around 2 p.m. at an Auto Zone on the 200 block of Springfield Avenue. Robinson, along with another woman, was captured on surveillance footage forcibly removing a victim from a vehicle. The victim was then thrown to the ground and repeatedly punched by Robinson.

Robinson is described as being 5’7″ tall, weighing 200 pounds, with brown eyes, black hair, and a dark complexion.

Director Fragé urges anyone with information regarding Robinson’s whereabouts to contact the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All tips provided to the Crime Stoppers line are kept confidential and could be eligible for a reward. The Newark Police Department emphasizes the importance of community assistance in apprehending individuals wanted for criminal activities.
