BROOKLYN, NY – On Tuesday evening, a violent subway altercation resulted in the shooting of a teenage boy and a 52-year-old man aboard a Manhattan-bound C train.
The incident, which took place around 5:40 p.m., started with a fight between the 17-year-old and an unidentified male suspect.
The New York City Police Department reported that the suspect fired shots during the dispute, hitting both the teenager and the bystander.
The teen sustained a gunshot wound to his right hand, while the man was struck in the ankle. A single bullet caused both injuries, passing through the boy’s hand into the man’s ankle.
The train was held at Ralph Avenue station in Ocean Hill, where officers and paramedics provided assistance. Both victims were transported to Bellevue Hospital and Kings County Hospital, respectively, and are in stable condition. The gunman remains at large, and the NYPD continues its investigation into the incident.
