ROCKVILLE, MD – The Maryland State Police have apprehended Jeremy Orellana, 21, of Gaithersburg, following his involvement in an assault and hit-and-run incident that took place in October.
Orellana is facing charges including second-degree assault, robbery, theft, and related traffic offenses.
The incident occurred on October 26, when a Mazda CX-3, driven by the female victim, was rear-ended by a Ford transit van driven by Orellana on northbound I-270.
Following the collision, Orellana assaulted the victim and fled the scene, also stealing property and money.
The victim received medical treatment for her injuries at the Adventist HealthCare Germantown Emergency Center. Orellana was later arrested and is currently detained at the Montgomery County Detention Center.
