Fatal Multi-Car Collision in Bear Results in One Death and Multiple Injuries

BEAR, DE – The Delaware State Police are currently investigating a multi-car collision that occurred last Sunday afternoon on Pulaski Highway in Bear, resulting in one fatality and several injuries.

On Sunday, at 4:17 p.m., a collision occurred involving a white 2017 Toyota RAV-4, a black 2011 Nissan Altima, and a red 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer.

According to the report, the Chevrolet, driven by a 61-year-old New Castle man, failed to adhere to a red turn signal, initiating a series of impacts with the Toyota and Nissan at the intersection of Pulaski Highway and Bear Christiana Road.

The front passenger of the Toyota, a 65-year-old woman from Bear, succumbed to her injuries at a local hospital.

The Toyota’s driver, a 60-year-old Wilmington man, and the Chevrolet’s driver were both hospitalized with varying degrees of injuries. The occupants of the Nissan, a 42-year-old woman and three children from Bear, did not sustain injuries.
