TOMS RIVER, NJ – Several gas stations at the Jersey Shore on Friday reported regular gasoline prices under $3.00 for the first time since 2021. In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, gasoline prices rose from $1.69 to $5.01 in February of 2022. Prices crossed the $3 mark in June of 2020 for the first time since 2014.
This week two gas stations in Lakehurst sold regularly for $3.01 per gallon, Many stations around the Jersey Shore had prices hovering between $3.01 and $3.10 according to Gas Buddy.
The Gulf and Conoco stations on Route 70 in Lakehurst reported gas for $3.01 according to Gas Buddy.
Delta on Bridge Avenue in Point Pleasant was reported at $2.97 per gallon.
The average gas price across the county was $3.27 on Friday.
