Maryland Man Receives 16-32 Year Sentence for Fatal DUI Crash

LANCASTER COUNTY, PA – Christopher Pineda-Gasca, a 21-year-old resident of North East, Maryland, has been sentenced to 16 to 32 years in prison after pleading guilty to third-degree murder and related charges.

The charges stem from an April 2022 crash in Lancaster County that resulted in the death of 32-year-old Alicia Whisler and serious injuries to her child.

The incident unfolded on April 4, 2022, when Pineda-Gasca, driving a silver Infiniti with a stolen license plate, attempted to evade police.

During the pursuit, he drove recklessly at speeds exceeding 100 mph, eventually crashing into Whisler’s vehicle. The impact led to Whisler’s death and left her child seriously injured.

Assistant District Attorney Christopher Miller presented the case, emphasizing the severity of Pineda-Gasca’s actions during the sentencing hearing.
