BLOOMINGDALE, N.J. – Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of Randy S. McMaster, a resident of Bloomingdale, NJ, following a fire incident at an Optimum store.
The arrest came as a result of a joint investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Oakland Police Department.
The incident occurred on Thursday, October 19, when the Oakland Police Department received a 911 call reporting a fire at the Optimum store located at 40 Potash Road, Oakland, NJ. Responding officers found two Optimum service vans with smoke and fire damage in the parking lot.
The investigation revealed that McMaster had intentionally set fire to both vehicles. As a result, McMaster was arrested on Thursday, in Paramus, NJ, and is now facing charges of second-degree aggravated arson, third-degree arson, and third-degree criminal mischief.
He is currently detained at Bergen County Jail, awaiting his first court appearance.
